Zizzi - Brentwood

If you’re strolling along 72 High Street in Brentwood and your cravings start whispering “Italian”, then Zizzi - Brentwood is the stop you didn’t know you needed. This charming Italian restaurant doesn’t just feed you-it welcomes you. With a buzzing vibe, al fresco dining, and live music that makes your linguine dance, Zizzi manages to combine vibrant energy with relaxed charm in one elegant package.

From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this isn’t just another pizza-and-pasta joint. The ambiance is upbeat yet cozy, thanks to their warm lighting, rustic-modern décor, and even a fireplace that adds an inviting glow. And for those needing accessible options, Zizzi - Brentwood has your back: there's a wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet-everyone gets a seat at this table.

Now, let’s talk food, because Zizzi doesn’t play around. Their Bruschetta is where it often begins-fresh, crunchy, topped with vibrant tomatoes and basil. Pair that with Garlic Bread or Olives for the perfect prelude to the main show. If you're more of a seafood starter fan, the Calamari is golden, crispy, and addictive, while the Prawn Spiedini with Spicy Seafood Sauce packs just the right kick for spice lovers.

The menu here reads like a love letter to Italian comfort food with a twist. Craving something creamy and cozy? The Casareccia Pesto Rosso brings sun-dried tomatoes and basil to a velvety pasta hug. For a protein hit with flair, the Chicken Milanese delivers a satisfying crunch topped with a tangy tomato salad. Or go bold with the Rustica Hot & Spicy Jackfruit Pizza-a vegan-friendly favorite that doesn’t compromise on flavor. There’s also the Sea Bass, seared to perfection and plated beautifully, offering a lighter yet luxurious option.

Vegetarians and vegans will find more than a few standouts, which is refreshing. And for those in the mood for something heartier, try the Casareccia Pollo Piccante, where spicy chicken and creamy sauce team up for maximum indulgence.

But don’t skip dessert-seriously, don’t. The Golden Millionaire's Slice is rich, decadent, and worth every bite. Or go for a Sundae or Three Scoops Ice Cream if you want something classic and cool. Paired with a bold espresso or a creamy cappuccino (yes, they serve great coffee), it's the kind of ending that makes you start planning your next visit.

Drinks? Oh, they’re flowing. Zizzi - Brentwood serves everything from San Pellegrino Blood Orange for a refreshing non-alcoholic option to a curated list of wines, beers, and signature cocktails. There’s even a braille menu, making the experience inclusive and thoughtful.

One thing I genuinely appreciate is how well this spot fits every dining mood. Whether you’re dining solo and need a quick bite, gathering with friends over cocktails, or popping in for a late-night plate of Risotto, Zizzi’s got the rhythm to match your vibe. And with service options ranging from dine-in to no-contact delivery and takeaway, you get flexibility without sacrificing the Zizzi experience.

The highlight reel continues with live music nights that inject soul into your supper, plus the chance to sip on a cocktail while the fireplace crackles nearby. It’s the kind of sensory experience that turns an ordinary night out into something memorable.

Whether you’re a pizza purist, a pasta explorer, or just someone who loves food that tastes as good as it looks, Zizzi - Brentwood serves up plates worth talking about-and more importantly, worth coming back for.

Food was amazing. We had a table for 4 people booked for 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered about 4.50 and had our starters fairly quick we then waited for our mains till 6.00 we asked and was told a few more minutes our food came at 6.05, we explained once they took the plates away that we needed the desserts ASAP as we had to be somewhere by 6.50 (luckily very local). We had our desserts and asked for the bill. We wouldn't mind if it had been busy but when we got in the restaurant there wasn't loads of other people so I don't understand why our wait for food was so long and we weren't offered more drinks while we were waiting or even offered an apology for the wait until we complained and asked where our food was.

It baffles me why Zizzi isn’t generally viewed as the superior high street Italian chain. The range on their menu and the flavours the employ are far and away more interesting, original and delicious. Fun drinks and excellent desserts too. Decent gluten-free options and usually brilliant service. It’s a yes from me.

We arrived as a party of 5 on a Wednesday early evening at 5pm during half term. It was nice and quiet and we were greeted by a nice waitress called Katerina. She seated us promptly and took our order with no waiting around. The food came quickly as well, no faults at all. I ordered the carbonara and it was very tasty. The three course kids menu is such good value as well. The baby changing/toilet is easily accessible and clean too. A lot of space to bring in a buggy which can sometimes be a pain in a crowded restaurant. Highly recommend! If arriving by car, we parked in Sainsbury’s (paid) and walked 5 minutes to the restaurant.

My daughter and I visited around 5:30pm on a Saturday or the first time, and it was fairly busy. We were greeted immediately and taken to our seats. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The staff were friendly and professional. We ordered drinks, starters (olives, calamari, and King Prawn Spiedini with Spicy Seafood Sauce) and mains (Casareccia Pesto Rosso and Roasted Mushroom Risotto). The portion sizes were reasonable and everything came out within a reasonable amount of time. There were plenty of dessert options, but didn't have any room for it!
